Author · Ghostwriter · Content Strategist
The right story changes everything.
For nearly three decades, I’ve helped authors, executives, entertainers, athletes, and entrepreneurs turn expertise, experience, and ideas into books, articles, and stories that find an audience.

The short version
Some writers help people tell stories. I’ve built a career around it.
Over the past three decades, I’ve written or collaborated on 17 published books, worked with Grammy winners, bestselling authors, filmmakers, chefs, athletes, executives, media companies, and global brands, and helped organizations communicate more effectively across print, digital, audio, and AI-powered platforms.
Whether the assignment is a memoir, a business book, a longform article, a content strategy, or an AI communication workflow, the job is the same: make complicated ideas compelling and make great stories impossible to ignore.
What I do
Your story, told properly.
Books, memoirs, proposals, articles, and executive thought leadership for accomplished people who have something worth saying.
Editorial systems that compound.
Audience development, publishing workflows, content operations, and brand storytelling built to do more than fill space.
Closing the gap.
Human-centered editorial frameworks for improving the quality, usefulness, and reliability of AI-generated communication.
Collaborators, clients, and co-conspirators.
What clients say

The covers do some of the talking.
A focused shelf: the books most likely to matter to readers, clients, editors, and people wondering whether this guy has actually done the work.

The rest of the story.
Alan is a professional bassist, recording artist, and founder of Gold Note Records. He has recorded with Janet Jackson, Cypress Hill, Naughty by Nature, and Digable Planets, and performed at the 1994 Grammy Awards on national television.
He also writes Chicago Sports Stuff on Substack, because some obsessions deserve their own publication.
Let’s tell a great story.
Whether you’re writing a book, building a content operation, or figuring out how to communicate what you know, the conversation starts here.
