The Music They Didn't Want You To Hear

Over the past three years, I recorded a series of albums in which I turned the music of Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, and John Coltrane into a collection of electronica/jazz mashups. (False modesty aside, they're really good.) After very positive initial responses from their respective estates, the legal-types decided to deny me the rights to use their samples commercially.

The record deals were virtually in place.

And then they weren't.

I was heartbroken.

For that matter, I still am.

The good news is that I'm sharing a few of my favorite tracks on my Soundcloud page. I'm super-proud of them, and the fact that they're now out in the world in at least some form makes me feel pretty darn good.

Check 'em out, and if you dig it, spread the word!
